I constantly produce sewn images as my thoughts appear, or the thoughts that I feel the need to document, appear. The concept behind my installation is that thoughts are pervasive, unavoidable and all encompassing. We are all constantly thinking about something while going about our daily activities. Themes that inspire my drawings are everyday life, home, relationships, obsessions, everyday objects, events, conversations, feelings and memories.
Many of the images arent recognizable or obvious to the viewer, but they hint at a dialogue and an on-going narrative. It isnt important to me that the viewer understands or recognizes my images; its more about the making and recording. This is my way of writing in a journal and not having to reread my thoughts. At this point in my life, this process is my only weapon against the flood of my unending thoughts.
My work is a representation of myself through my constant recording of my thoughts and daily life. Although it is influenced by external factors such as domesticity and femininity, the art at its core is a journal of my life experiences.
